Olympic Medalist Niklas Larsen Joins the Rockets

The Rockets are proud to announce the signing of Niklas Larsen, a Danish Olympic medalist and multiple world champion on the track, who will join the team from the 2026 season.

At 28 years old, Larsen brings both experience and ambition. Known for his powerful engine and intelligent racing style, he joins the Rockets after an impressive start of the 2025 campaign, highlighted by victories in the Tour du Loir et Cher, stage wins in Kreiz Breizh Elites, and podium finishes in the Tour of Estonia and Danish National Time Trial Championships.

Earlier this year, Larsen caught the team’s attention with standout performances in France. He finished third at the Cholet Agglo Tour, where Rockets rider Lukáš Kubiš took the win, and impressed again a week later in La Route Adélie de Vitré. His attacking approach and consistency quickly marked him as a perfect fit for the team’s aggressive racing philosophy.

Before his recent success on the road, Larsen built a remarkable résumé on the track. He is a three-time World Champion and three-time Olympic medalist, earning podiums in Rio, Tokyo, and Paris as part of Denmark’s dominant team pursuit and Madison squads.

“Niklas is the kind of rider who perfectly fits our vision,” says Bas Tietema. “He combines raw strength with tactical intelligence and a winning mindset. We’re thrilled to have him on board and believe his best years are still ahead of him.”

Larsen will focus fully on the road with the Rockets, strengthening the team’s classics and sprint group, while also adding valuable time trial power. “The Rockets’ way of racing really appeals to me,” says Niklas Larsen. “They’re ambitious, creative and not afraid to do things differently, that’s something I want to be part of."
