12 days after Lukas Kubis took our first win of the season in the Cholet Agglo Tour, Unibet Tietema Rockets may add another victory to its record. Lander Loockx was the strongest in a decisive breakaway of five riders.

Lander Loockx wins Paris-Camembert!

We know it’s a cliché, but once again our riders showed that teamwork makes the dream work. Due to the wind, the peloton split up after 80 kilometers in several echelons. With Abram, Adam, Axel, Lander, and Tomas we had five guys in the first group of 40 riders.

Our riders took their responsibility and controlled the race until the first local laps in Livarot-Pays-d’Auge. With 30 km until the finish line, a strong breakaway group of five riders attacked from the first echelon. Lander was there for us.

The group worked well together and managed to get a one-minute gap to first chasing groups, where we also still had Adam. On the last steep climbs on the local laps, the first attacks were coming. Lander was able to follow them, and the breakaway group came back all together in the final kilometers.

With a powerful sprint, Lander managed to take his first victory on pro level and win the 86th edition of Paris-Camembert. After winning the mountain classification in the Tour de Taiwan earlier this season, it’s another big success for our Belgian rider.
